Value Ratio

The Value Ratio is a comparison of the Quality Score of the wine to the Price. This is not an overly scientific calculation. However, it is important to note that there is a weighting factor utilized to put added value on the quality of a wine. In other words, even though a marginal quality wine is very low priced, it may not be a good value.

It is important to keep in mind that the Value Ratio and Quality Score are two seperate tools you can use to evaluate a wine purchase. If it is a quite night at home, you may choose to put more emphasis on the Value Ratio. But, if a perspective new client is coming to dinner, going for the higher Quality Score may be a good move. To put it plainly, a high value ratio means that your getting a good wine for the price being charged.
