This is certainly a key element in determining the Value Ratio. The pricing listed for each bottle of wine is exactly what I paid. Living in central Florida, I tend to purchase most of my at Publix Supermarkets and ABC Liquors. Also, I tend to purchase wine when it is on sale.

Keep in mind the purchase price does not include sales tax, but it does include taxes assesed by the state of Florida. Fortunately for me, Florida's sin tax on alcoholic beverages is relatively low. If you compare the prices I have paid to that of your local wine store, keep in mind the impact of the state tax. This tax can add 10 to 20 percent on to the price of a bottle of wine. Furthermore, your wine store generally includes this fee in the bottle price.

Also, states that limit distribution of wine to specialized stores, generally have higher priced wines. It is simply a matter supply and demand. Because Florida allows the sale of wine at just any about retail location, there is considerable competition and lower prices.
