Comments:

I will admit, this was another experiment. I have been hearing a lot about Malbec grapes and wanted to give the wine a try. The Conquista tasted hear reminded much more of an old world wine. Clearly, the emphasis was on the grape not on the aging. In other words a mildly fruity flavor up front and tannic earthy finish. Missing is the complexity gained by aging in oak barrels. If you really like California Cabernets, I would pass on this wine. If on the other hand, you prefer French Reds, give this Malbec a try.

From the Label:

Conquista (Conquest) is almost a synonym of Argentina: the Spanish as early as the 18th century followed by the Jesuits and more recently European immigrats notably Italians, were all fascinated by the beaty and richness of the land. The result is a combination of warmth, style, and tradition just like this wine. Situated at the foothills of the Andes and fed by the purest water from melted snow, the vineyards produce grapes of outstanding quality. Made to enjoy, this wine with spiced red plum flavors combined with this silky texture should Conquista you at any time of the day.
