The first impression this wine imparts is a strong oak flavor (especially for Merlot) coupled with mild fuit. Being partial to California Cabernet's a pleasant surprise for a Merlot and for the money, a true value. However, the wine finishes quickly and is lacking the depth and complexity of flavors of some wines priced just slightly more.
